Influenza is a highly contagious and infectious respiratory disease, but you can protect yourself and others.

By following some simple and effective steps, you can reduce your risk and stay healthy:

3. Keep your hands away from your face
4. Cough and sneeze into your arm, not your hand
5. If you get sick, stay home and rest until your symptoms are gone
6. Keep common surface areas clean and disinfected

Some groups of people are at higher risk of developing complications if they do get the flu:

• Pregnant women
• People with chronic conditions
• People 65 years of age or older
